First Aid and Trauma Kits

During any major emergency or disaster, medical assistance may be days away. Having the most comprehensive medical supplies that you can afford can mean the difference between life and death for you, your family members or your neighbors. While most preparedness suppliers only offer minimal first aid kits, Optimum Preparedness knows that first aid kits are not ‘One Size Fits All’ needs.

Our Extreme First Aid Kits were designed for outdoor professionals heading into remote areas with either Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician (WEMT), Wilderness First Responder (WFR) or Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA) certification. While you may not have that training, you can supplement the kits with a book such as U.S. Army Special Forces Medical Handbook (in our Books dept), or you may have a neighbor who is an EMT, nurse or doctor. Even with the Extreme First Aid Kits, it is recommended to get add-ons such as the suture kit, the QuikClot products to stop bleeding, masks to protect against viral or biological agents, etc.

If the Extreme First Aid Kits are beyond your current budget, not to worry. Our Mid–size to Large kits beat most other First Aid kits hands down. For your home base supplies, get the best first aid kit you can afford. Then you’ll want to get a smaller kit for your car kit. When getting a first aid kit to add to your auto emergency kit, you’ll want a good kit but because you may have to walk home, keep the weight of the first aid kit in mind (the Expedition First Aid kit is just too big for a car kit). The Weekender or the Ultralight kits are good for your car kit.
